Your impact: the promise of an opportunity

During her freshman year, the class, “When Women Ruled the World,” ignited Bailey Sincox’s passion for the English Renaissance. Three years later, Bailey plans to continue her studies of Elizabethan literature at Oxford University. Here, she says “thanks:” On my first visit to Duke, I fell in love. The place, the people, and the promise of an opportunity that my family could afford convinced me this was where I wanted to be.

    Your impact: undergraduate financial aid

Coming to Duke University has been transformative for me, and I know that Annual Fund contributors like you are responsible for many of the extraordinary opportunities I have enjoyed here. As a scholarship recipient who has benefitted directly from Annual Fund donations, I can honestly say: Without your support, I would not have been able to come to Duke. Thank you!

Your impact: hands-on learning at Duke Law

As a middle school teacher, I was used to rolling up my sleeves and getting my hands dirty. I knew I wanted a similar experience in law school. Duke caught my attention because it not only offered an excellent academic experience, but also hands-on clinical and community outreach work.

Make a Gift

Are you in a reunion year? Make an Annual Fund contribution to your class gift.

Last year, gifts from more than 60,000 Duke alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff, and friends added up to a record $36.5 million in flexible operating support to strengthen the Duke community. These gifts made possible many of the financial aid awards and fellowships, hands-on learning experiences, and faculty-mentored research opportunities available to our undergrad and graduate students.

Annual Fund gifts are different than Duke Alumni Association contributions? The Annual Fund directly benefits the current community of students and faculty, while the DAA supports alumni programming and activities on campus and in your area.

Say Where Your Gift Goes

You may remember the feeling of arriving on campus for the first time as a student – the realization that this would be your home for the next several years.

This would be the place where you discovered fresh ideas, experienced new activities, conquered challenging classes, and formed lasting relationships. That was the moment you became a lifelong part of the Duke community – a community that shares a unique bond.

This April, many from the Duke community will once again feel the excitement of campus, and give back to their class gift as part of Duke Reunions 2016. More than 50,000 alumni and friends have given to their class campaign since the launch of Duke Forward. Their gifts not only honor the memory and richness of their own Duke experience, but also help to create the same excellence and community for students on campus today.
